What is a domain expiration date?

Each domain name has an expiration date. This is the date when the domain becomes inactive and all domain services stop functioning. It might be crucial to your business not to forget to extend the domain name ownership because your website will stop working once you forget to extend the domain name ownership.

What happens when a domain name expires?

When you reach the expiration date the domain name becomes inactive immediately. Your website will stop working. Some domain names may have a grace period after expiration. During this period you could renew the domain. But it is not guaranteed so better to renew it before the expiration.

How to use "UpTime.onl" service to check the domain expiration date

Domain expiry checks are only available in the Pro plan. As an addition to basic uptime checks, you will have SSL certificate expiry checks, broken links check, etc.

To add a URL, go to the dashboard and add the URL to check and we will start to check the domain expiration date too. We will check it once a day.

Then, you can see the date in the dashboard

Additionally, we will notify you before 7 days of expiration. So you will not forget to prolong it when you need it.
